The Jew Karl Heinrich Marx was born on May 5, 1818, in the city of Trier in the Rhine Province of Prussia (now Germany). His mother, Herietta Pressburg, was from Holland and like Karl's father, was Jewish and was the descendent of a long line of rabbi's. |
